Privacy Policy

What RainClock collects, why, who processes it, how long we keep it, and your rights.

Effective date: July 15, 2026RainClock

This policy covers the RainClock website and product, operated by Harper AI, Inc., a Delaware corporation operating from California.

What we collect

  • Account data: your email address and sign-in activity. We use passwordless sign-in; we never store passwords.
  • Payment data: held by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store full card numbers.
  • Site records you create: site locations, inspection entries, photos, corrective actions, and rain logs. These are your compliance records; see “Your records” below.
  • Free rain-log tool submissions: the site address you look up and, if you request the weekly log, your email address.
  • Usage data: pages viewed, feature use, and error reports via our analytics provider.

Why we collect it

To run the service (accounts, clocks, records, exports), to bill subscriptions, to send the transactional email the product depends on (sign-in links, storm and deadline notices, receipts), and to understand what works so we can improve the product.

Your records

Inspection records, photos, and rain logs belong to you. We do not share, sell, or report them to anyone, including regulators. We respond to valid legal process only as required by law, with notice to you where lawful. In-app session recording is off: your audit binder and site photos are sensitive by nature and we do not record you working with them.

Who processes data for us

  • Stripe — payments and billing.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery.
  • PostHog — product analytics. On marketing pages, session replay may be enabled with all inputs masked: we mask everything you type.
  • Google Cloud — hosting and storage.

We do not sell or share personal information as defined by California law.

Retention

  • Account data: kept for the life of the account.
  • Site records: customer-controlled. Because the permits generally require three-year retention, deletion tools warn before a purge that would break your own retention duty. When you close your account we offer an export first, then purge your records within 90 days.
  • Free-tool submissions: kept up to 2 years, deleted on request.
  • Payment records: per Stripe’s retention.

Your rights

California residents have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing (we do neither), and to non-discrimination for exercising those rights. We extend the same rights to everyone. Exercise them at privacy@rainclock.com. We honor verified requests within the statutory windows.

Cookies, GPC, and DNT

We use cookies for sign-in sessions and analytics. Because we do not sell or share personal information, Global Privacy Control signals do not change our processing; we note them. We do not respond to legacy Do Not Track headers.
